Over a decade of sourcing, crafting, and delivering unique live edge tables to homes across Orange County and beyond.
Heft Home started with a simple belief: everyone deserves a table they're proud of, one that didn't cost a fortune and one that no one else has.
We built our warehouse in Irvine so customers could come in, see the wood, touch it, and choose their own piece. No catalog. No waiting months for a custom order. Walk in, pick your slab, take it home.
Over ten years later, that's still exactly how we do it. We've stayed small on purpose because when something is this personal, the experience matters as much as the product.
Live edge hardwood is prized for its natural edges, rich grain, warm tones, and the kind of variation that makes every table feel personal. Unlike mass produced furniture, each slab carries its own figure, its own width, and its own story. That is exactly why we let you choose yours in person.
And at two and a half inches thick, these tables aren't just beautiful. They're built to be passed down.
People sometimes ask why our tabletops are made from three matched boards instead of a single slab. The honest answer is that a top made from several boards is the better table. A single ten foot slab looks impressive in a photo, but that much unbroken wood is constantly fighting itself. Wood breathes with the seasons, and the bigger the piece, the more dramatic the movement: cupping, splitting, and hairline cracks down the line.
Joining three chosen boards lets each piece move independently, so the table stays flat and intact for decades. It's also where the craft lives. We lay every top out by hand, rotating the boards until the grain flows from one piece to the next like it grew that way. Done well, you don't see three boards. You see one continuous piece of wood, deliberately composed, with character no single slab could match. That's the difference between a slab of wood and a table.
Three boards move less than one. Each piece balances the others as humidity changes, which means no cupping, no splitting, and no surprises in year five.
Every top is laid out by hand until the grain flows continuously. You stop seeing seams and start seeing one intentional piece.
Matched boards let us use only the cleanest, most figured sections of each tree. You get better wood, less waste, and a wholesale price.
Every table that leaves our warehouse goes through the same careful steps. No shortcuts, no compromises.
We source solid live edge slabs directly, with no middlemen and no veneer. Every slab is assessed for size, grain, and character before it earns a place on our floor.
Each slab is inspected by hand for cracks, voids, and imperfections. We don't sell anything we wouldn't put in our own home.
We sand, shape, and refinish every slab to bring out the grain. Natural and bleached finishes are applied evenly and cured properly.
Lacquer is applied by hand to protect against moisture, heat, and everyday wear without constant maintenance.
Every finished slab goes on the warehouse floor, where you walk in and pick the exact piece that's right for you.
We deliver and fully assemble your table at home. We attach the legs, level the feet, and take the packaging away.
Thirty minutes is all it takes. Book a visit and we'll walk you through everything.
